It showed me a man (amazingly played by Mathieu Almaric) completely paralyzed, apart from the ability to blink his left eye.

I don't want to spoil the movie so i won't give you any more details.

What did you do this weekend?
For sure and with no guilt (until maybe tomorrow, LOL) I ate a lot of cake!!! and I watched the US Open and the Celtics/Lakers playoffs game.

Captured Fairy Jar and a Wish Jar

Capturing a fairy in a jar was a lot of fun (oh yes!) so as a creative dreamer I really really wanted to put my hands, my mind and my heart in this project, too ;-)
I just loved the idea the minute I saw it, of a pretty jar to honour and cherish my dreams and wishes.
I want to invite you to go and take a look and if possible to participate with Loes creating your own wish jar to help you to focus on your dreams and wishes. It is easy, My jar has colorful stones, glitter, seashells, ribbon, little bells and stars, and dry flowers from my garden. Yes, they are my own personal cool detail, since I love to make pouporries out of them ;-)
It's all about reusing and recycling stuff you have around your house or from the dollar store and think and write of your dreams. I assure you are going to have lots of fun. I did!!! Creating something is super cool! so let's play with her, See! I am game!

Can you see that piece of paper? That's where my wishes are written. One of them is to live in my own house one day and have my own creative studio with access to my garden ;-)
Yes, I am changing some things in order to focus in this wish, I am also reinventing myself and shaping a new strategy ;-)
And I am doing great, better than ever! I am starting to live my dream, and in three years, my wish will come true YES!!!! ;-)

Monty Python's Spamalot

If there is something, I am passionate about it is going to see a stage performance and talking about it! yes! going to the Theater for me is one of the best treats for my senses and a great delight for my imagination.
Musicals are my BIG favorites, I feel like I want to jump out of my seat and run on stage, be part of them and sing and dance, and keep singing and dancing and ab-SOUL-tely have fun with everyone.
I think stage performing is amazing!!!
I love it so much that sometimes I wish that I could have the gift and talent to be one of them, a stage performer.
As you can see during the weekend one of my wishes came true and I got to see Monty Python's Spamalot in the state of the art Wynn Las Vegas hotel. And YES!!!! It is the best I have ever seen and enjoyed, For sure, one of the most hilarious musicals ever produced! I am highly reccomending it to you. You will laugh a lot, mucho, mucho, mucho! LOL ;-)
My next wish (and I am closing my eyes and opening my heart) is for me to go and see this musical in Broadway, in New York city, yes, yes, yes!
LOL

English as a second language

What makes you different,
it's what makes you beautiful.

Some of you know me for quite a while.
And know that English is my second language. Spanish is my first along with some Portuguese.
I read real well the three languages.
My Greatgrandparents (in both sides) were Portuguese who came to live in Mexico at a very young age.
Yes, I was born and raised in Mexico and I have been living in the USA for more than half of my life.
I have two citizenships for my two beloved countries.
I am an American and a Mexican.
Spanish and English are part of my EVERYDAY Life.
and yes, if you are curious, I do dream in both languages, and yes I do think in both, too.
AND... I DO have and speak with a THICK accent ALL OF THEM ;-)
And that's ok...
But To tell you the truth sometimes... I don't like it.
And I wish I could speak with no accents like everybody else and write perfectly like I have an English class degree ;-)
But then that's ok, too.
That's ok to be different.
That's what it makes me the perfect outsider. LOL.
My all six senses are ready to capture EVERYTHING in my heart and head to feed my soul and eventually and hopefully to share it somehow with the world ;-)
So after all I think or better said I know that this way, my way of speaking and/or trying to communicate is what it makes me UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL...

You know, at first, I could seem quiet and reserved, and that is NOTHING to do with my way of speaking, on the contrary, I am listening and paying attention to YOU more than you can imagine! I am observing, trying to get all the point of views, your story, your real you the most I can, before I decide to give to you my honest and heartfelt input or not.
Talking about this, please know that I read your whole posts in your blogs. And you guys make me smile, laugh, think, reflect, and sometimes cry and I leave your blog feeling very positively satisfied of having you in my life and me be there for you while reading your stories and I enjoy leaving you a comment or emailing you. And if I don't read you one day please know I will make it up for you and for sure, I think of all of you all the time.
I know you ALL know this by now...

Back to my ramblings. Now, if there is something I disagree, or needs my attention or upsets me, I make sure, I am going to make sure that I get to be heard and understood. Come on! Isn't it something anybody does?
I don't think it has to do with me being passionate or hispanic, right? LOL, Ok yes I am a very passionate hispanic woman after all, LOL, more LOL
Ok...I am going to admit to you one more thing...
I can yell BUT also, know that I try hard not to go to these extremes.
I have acted on impulses in the past and I am not proud.
AND I strongly dislike emotions ruling me so I try to do my best controling them. And more important, I TRY to avoid REACTIONS. Momentarily reactions that I may regret.

This is funny, and maybe daring, but I am not scared of speaking in public, and I love the attention ;-) I actually consider myself a very public person somehow, I mean, I have learned to wait for my moment and take the FULL and WHOLE opportunity to express my mind.
Do you know that during my lunch time I sell my jewelry and whatever I create? Yes, I enjoy being an entrepreneur, a business woman selling her craft and arts!
And convincing people that they have to wear and buy my jewelry. LOL.
And what a sweet success to get a check or cash, LOL.

Now, There are some other stuff I am VERY passionate about it. But I won't try to convince you but then I may, LOL

And before I finish with these "confessions" I realize that It was very important for me to let you know of this last fact and how pride I am of this childhood success and why I blog in English regardless of "some" (and sometimes many) grammatical and composition mistakes ;-)
Here it is: I LOVE words. In ANY language.
When I was a 10 yr old I was a spelling bee champion speller ;-)

Recipes, Concoctions and decisions ;-)

Mermaid Carmen thinking out loud on a Monday...

I am a great cook and a big eater, except for caviar and raw oysters.
And for sure, Carbs are my enemies and weakness.

Another thing for you to know: Mermaid Carmen DOES NOT follow recipes, And She is very proud of that fact (only when SHE bakes cookies or plum rhubard).
She uses her creativity for the most part. And has lots of practice in her sea of love kitchen ;-)
So whatever she cooks it is ok if you call it a "Concoction"
This is what you can find in a dictionary:
Concoction, To devise, using skill and intelligence ;-)
And she is absolutely confident of her skill and intelligence!
if you ever come to eat in her sea castle, I am pretty sure you are going to eat everything and ask her for more;-)
She is real good! She loves fixing breakfast on sunday mornings and leftovers are her specialty, she can absolutely transform it into a totally different meal ;-)

Lately, she has rediscovered the joy of baking. And can't seem to stop. Yes, she is a little worried about all that butter and sugar, LOL

Mermaid Carmen loves dining out in good restaurants BUT her kitchen and cooking is her favorite ;-)
Generally, The flavor of her food must always be spicy. The hotter the better. But She loves everything, and is not picky at all. She is totally adventurous with food. She has eaten almost everything in this world. And can tell pretty much exactly what's on a dish. She can live anywhere and isn't worried about food.
She usually doesn't eat desserts, but if she needs to make a decision, ayyaayayyyy! LOL
For sure, I know she prefers to eat this delicious red fruit and fresh and homegrown if possible.

Currently her favorite foods are Indian, Thai and the best of all: Mexican, Yay!
But Pizza is in her list still, Big time, LOL
and wine? yes, please!!! She LOVES wine with a meal ;-)
