As you may know by now, I have an incredible fascination with the written word, its power, and also, what is or was in the author heart's and mind at the time.
I can spend a good amount (and love it!) of time with poems, song lyrics, author's biography's and my notebook. They are one of the main inspiration for my muse when I collage, journal, or anytime I play arts and crafts ;-)
It wasn't hard to choose a song for the lovely LK Ludwig blog challenge: "A little more sharing" although I have to confess my list of favorite songs is long. In fact, I think It would be a great idea to take a picture of "that list" and their meaning in my own life.
Why I choose Leonard Cohen's Suzanne? The very first time I listened to that song, I said Again, again!!! play it again! I run and grab a pencil trying to catch the words. And oh my! those words with their sensuality and mysticism, both together led me to try to figure the mystery and meaning of "that woman".
And not to forget the mention of WATER. And a certain MIRROR!!!
I am a mermaid after all!
Oh yes! Suzanne has greatest lyrics in my opinion.
It is daring perfect song for its time.
Suzanne is my song, absolutely! and I agreed with my dear Julie there is a Suzanne in all of us.
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that she will trust you
For you've touched her perfect body
with your mind
And she shows you where to look
Among the garbage and the flowers
There are heroes in the seaweed
There are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love
And they will lean that way forever
While Suzanne holds the mirror
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that you can trust her
For she's touched your perfect body
with her mind

It's so strange seeing her~ I've never seen this video before and her hair is a lot like mine. You don't see that kind of hair a lot around my area, but I can accept its wild, free-spiritedness! :)
Good changes are always waiting to happen, if we just let them in!~
Hi Carmen. I love that song. Christine said the hair looked a lot like hers and you know something, when I have my hair out of a pony tail and just let it hang loose and curly as it is , mine does to.;) Carmen, thanks for stopping by my blog and also for keeping RK in your thoughts. She will appreciate it. Take care mermaid and be well.
Hi my lovely Mermaid friend. I enjoyed the song. It has a mysterious feel to it.
Thanks for sharing love on my audio post I did. And I also love Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing. It is on top five faves of his.
Hugs to you.
You're ahead of the curve! I'm still trying to decide (and figure out how to get the music onto the blog).
Thanks for your great comments on my blog entries. I am so glad to have you linked to my site so I can see when you've posted something new. Your comments on writing are certainly in synch with my posting today.
"For you've touched her perfect body with your mind..." This song blew me away this morning. I wanted nothing more than to replay it and watch it while drinking tea and eating oranges. ;) Wow! What lyrics! You found the perfect mermaid song. :)
PLEASE...share more of your songs!!
Still so hauntingly beautiful. Loved hearing it again. Thanks so much for the time travel.

You made my day.
I know this song well. Haunting. Thanks for sharing my dear. Hope you're doing well!!
This song was new to me, and *wow* I am so glad you shared it! It is so elegant and dreamy. It really strikes a chord with me.
Oh, what a nice memory tweaker it was to hear this song again! Thank you.
Bella Carmen, this is one of my favorite songs of all time.
The very first version I heard was by Neil Diamond in the 1970's...
I know, I know... I'm Ancient!!!
Thank you so very much for sharing this. How very incredible Leonard Cohen is.
It made me smile that this was the song you chose:)
so much love to you!!!

Thank you for reminding me of Suzanne. I listened to that song a million times when I was a teenager.
I just discovered this song a year ago and I'm crazy for it. One of my all time favorites. I still play it over and over. Thanks. And thanks for visiting my blog.
This song and Dance me until the end of love are two of his best in my humble. Love them both and him, what a poet! Isn't it wonderful to have a sharing day so we can see each other in the music? Thank you for coming this morning, and I am sorry iTunes wasn't cooperative. I ended showing a couple of videos and a longer version of Loreena's wonderful voice.
